The Planika 790 FLA4 is the compact model in the FLOGS range: an automatic bioethanol burner topped with a stack of ceramic logs. At 790mm wide, it gives you the look of a wood-burning fire in rooms where a chimney, gas line or solid fuel isn't an option.
It runs on BEV Technology: the flame burns ethanol vapour, never liquid fuel, so there's no smoke, no odour and no ash. A microprocessor and sensors monitor every moment of operation, with automatic shut-off and a child lock as standard. Six flame height levels are controlled from the LCD touch panel, the remote control or the PLANIKA BEV app.
The 4.3-litre tank burns for up to 7 hours, and refuelling is fully automatic: a portable pump connects to the control panel and draws from the fuel bottle in a sealed circuit. No overfilling, no spills.
Indoor use only. Minimum room volume 69m3. Requires a 230V power supply. Decorative logs and log trays included.

What is the Planika FLA4 bioethanol burner?
The FLA4 is Planika's automatic bioethanol burner range. The FLOGS models add a stack of decorative ceramic logs over the flame line: a bioethanol fire with the look of a wood-burning one and clean, flueless combustion. It's available in 790mm and 990mm widths, each in standard (FLA4) and extended-tank (FLA4+) versions.
What is the difference between FLA4 and FLA4+?
The fuel tank. FLA4+ models carry an extra-large tank: 13.4L in the 790 (up to 21 hours of burn time) and 17.2L in the 990 (up to 27 hours). Standard FLA4 models hold 4.3L (790, up to 7 hours) and 5.5L (990, up to 8 hours). Heat output, flame levels and controls are the same.
What is the difference between the 790 and 990 FLOGS burners?
Width and burn time. The 790 is 790mm wide; the 990 is 990mm wide with a longer flame line and a slightly larger tank. Both are 280mm deep, produce up to 6.9kW and need a minimum room volume of 69m3. Match the width to your fireplace opening or media wall.
Does the Planika FLA4 need a chimney or flue?
No. Bioethanol burns cleanly, producing only water vapour and a small amount of CO2. No chimney, flue or additional ventilation is required, which makes this Planika bioethanol burner suitable for apartments, multi-storey buildings and homes where wood or gas isn't an option. The burner is for indoor use only.
Does the FLA4 bioethanol burner need electricity?
Yes. The FLA4 is an automatic burner, so it needs a 230V (or 115V) power supply for the control system, sensors and automatic refilling pump. Plan a socket into your fireplace or media wall build.
How do you control the Planika FLA4?
Three ways: the LCD touch control panel on the burner, the included remote control, or the PLANIKA BEV app on your phone. All three give you six flame height levels, fuel level readings and a shut-off timer. Smart Home System integration is optional.
What is BEV Technology?
BEV (Burning Ethanol Vapour) Technology is Planika's patented combustion system. The flame burns ethanol vapours rather than liquid fuel, so the fire never touches the liquid in the tank. The result is clean combustion with no smoke, odour or ash, monitored continuously by a microprocessor and sensors.
How do you refill a Planika FLA4 burner?
You don't pour anything. A portable pump connects to the burner's control panel and the hose tip sits inside the fuel bottle. The system fills the tank, monitors the fuel level continuously and recovers fuel after switch-off. A sealed circuit, no overfilling, no spills.
Is the Planika FLA4 safe to use in a family home?
Yes. Operation is monitored continuously by a microprocessor and sensors that detect any irregularity and shut the burner down automatically. A child lock is built into the touch panel, and the automatic refilling system means you never handle liquid fuel near the fire.
What fuel does the Planika FLA4 use?
Bioethanol at 95-96.6% purity: an alcohol-based fuel derived from organic sources. Use pharmaceutical-grade bioethanol free from fragrances and gel additives for clean, odourless combustion and reliable burner operation.
