Bioethanol Burners & Fireplace Inserts

A bioethanol burner is the heart of any bioethanol fireplace. It is the component that holds and burns the bioethanol fuel, producing a real flame without the need for a chimney, flue, or gas connection. Whether you are building a custom fireplace from scratch or converting an existing traditional fireplace, a bioethanol burner insert is the simplest way to achieve real flames in any room.

Manual vs Automatic Bioethanol Burners

Manual bioethanol burners are filled by hand and lit with a long lighter. They are simple, affordable, and ideal for occasional use or smaller installations. Our range includes the Planika L-Fire, Senso, and Cabo manual burners.

Automatic bioethanol burners use Planika's BEV (Burning Ethanol Vapours) technology. They feature remote control operation, automatic ignition, adjustable flame height, and built-in safety sensors. The Planika Prime Fire 2.0 and FLA3 are our most popular automatic burners — perfect for media walls, custom builds, and high-end residential projects.

Bioethanol Fireplace Inserts

If you have an existing fireplace opening, a bioethanol burner insert drops straight in with no structural work required. The EcoSmart VB2 is one of our bestselling inserts, converting traditional fireplaces into clean-burning bioethanol fires in minutes. For larger openings, the EcoSmart XL range offers flame lines from 500mm to 1200mm.
